Firefox 23 Review: Cheerful, Cluttered, And A Bit Too Eager To Please
Nathan Alderman, Macworld
I can’t ignore Firefox 23’s largely lackluster performance, or its crowded and increasingly clunky interface. Refreshing Finder Windows In Mac OS X
OS X Daily
There is no refresh button or keyboard shortcut for the OS X Finder, something which can become a nuisance when a folder window or directory does not refresh contents after something has changed. That may be a fairly rare occurrence with a Mac built-in hard drive, but external drives and particularly network drives used for file sharing can often exhibit this behavior, where adjustments to the file system are not represented in the active Finder window.

The (De-)evolution Of My Laptop Battery
If We Assume
My usage is the same, as far as I can tell. Some others have reported issues, describing dramatic battery decay in 2012 era Mac notebooks. Maybe these new batteries are just not built as well? My MacBook Pro had a capacity of 4600mAh, while the MacBook Air boasts a factory capacity of 6667mAh. Perhaps the engineering required to provide 45% more power for a computer almost half the size means the battery isn't as durable.

Storyboards were first introduced in the October 2011 release of Xcode 4.2. As with many forward-thinking concepts, the adoption of storyboards by seasoned developers has been a slow process. Do storyboards help or hinder the development lifecycle? There are two camps as it relates to the advantages and usefulness of storyboards for developing the user interface of an iOS app. After all of the dust has settled, it seems that storyboards may offer developers a distinct advantage.

The change is being matched by new mobile device management (MDM) options that will give teachers greater capabilities to control pupils’ iPads.
Parents still will not be able to create iTunes accounts (legally) for their children.

Best New Apps: 'Rymdkapsel'
Andrew Webster, The Verge
Rymdkapsel looks simple and plays slow, but it’s one of the best strategy games I’ve played in a long time. The game is all about expansion. Your team of tiny white squares starts out on a small platform floating in space, and the goal is to expand that platform as far as possible. You’ll need to produce resources like food and minerals, add new members to your crew, examine mysterious artifacts to gain new abilities, and build defenses to protect against regularly scheduled alien attacks. There’s also a puzzle element — new additions to your budding space colony come in the shape of Tetris pieces, so it’s a challenge to come up with the ideal set-up for all of the different rooms. But most of the strategy comes from your ability to balance exploration with defense, while keeping an ever-vigilant eye on your resources.
